SAILING IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN THE WORLD THE SEA OF CORTEZ |
Sure, the motor boater says that it is not a real power boat and the hard core sailor says that it is not a real sail boat. Both are wrong and both are right. A "stinkpotter" behaves different and you really can't have a sailing race with this boat and win a trophy. But it is a nice compromise between both worlds. |
The MacGregor 26 is one of the most practical boats.
As a motor sailer it is a power boat and a sail boat in one. Go with the wind at 6 Knots, or with the 50 HP at 22 Knots. |
Picture yourself in a lonely anchorage,
go beach combing or prepare the fish you caught sailing. Since the water is so beautiful, clear and warm, you go snorkeling, collect clams for dinner, enjoy an incredible underwater world, make pictures of all the tropical fish you see and just indulge in one of the < br>last undisturbed nature places in the world. Sure, there is no bar and no night life out there, but the Gulf of California is so pristine, you really won't miss it. |
Drop your anchor in one of the gorgeous bays and fish for dinner. There are so many protected anchorages and they are all close together, you can be at a new anchorage every day. |
The graphic clearly shows a V-berth and a big aft berth to sleep 4 people comfortably. |
Home port is La Paz, the capitol of
Baja California Sur, the "Pearl of the Sea of Cortez". If you have an ASA certificate or even owe a MacGregor, we will give you the boat for as long as you want. Even so the layout is for 4 sailors, it will be to cramped. Three are plenty and only for a day - sail it can be 4, or two adults and two kids is fine. If you really know how to handle a boat, this will be alright. In Mexico you don't need a license, but we like to know more about you before we let you go out with the boat. If you prefer a Captain, we have several great ones who will show you all the "secret" places. We don't charge for using the boat, but we ask you to give a good donation direct to our charities we are supporting: The Caritas, the Red Cross, the Orphanage, the Old Folks Home, EMAS and a few more needy organizations. Here, have a look: http://www.hacienda-del-sol.org/donations.html If you never sailed the Sea of Cortez, get ready for an unforgettable experience. If you were here before, you will be happy to come back and and have the opportunity to sail the incredible water again and this time only for the cost of a normal hotel room. |
